Similar to previous vintages, perhaps a little riper, the 2015 Campo Alegre reveals a sweet and creamy component on the nose, with candied fruit reflecting the conditions of the year. The palate is medium to full-bodied with abundant, fine-grained tannins and a dry mouthfeel despite the sweet sensation of the ripe fruit. The acidity is moderate to low, which provides a soft mouthfeel. 32,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2017, after 14 months in 100% new oak.

This dense red delivers blackberry and currant flavors, with cocoa, coffee and licorice notes, a balance of sweet and smoky that lingers through the clean, floral finish. There is a sweet and creamy sensation in the nose of the 2014 Campo Alegre, a pure Tempranillo or Tinta de Toro with a commercial, approachable profile. The grapes from old and low-density vineyards fermented in a mixture of stainless steel and concrete vats are partly aged in 225- and 600-liter French oak barrels for one year. The palate revealed sweet fruit and some tannins that would welcome food. 80,000 bottles.

This rugged red has a craggy structure, with muscular tannins and edgy acidity. Tar, game and cola flavors shadow plum and blackberry fruit notes. Shows personality, but rather rustic. Drink now through 2020. 5,000 cases imported.??–TM??Region: Spain / Toro Select to Add

The 2013 Campo Alegre is pure Tempranillo (aka Tinta de Toro) fermented in a mixture of stainless steel and concrete vats. It's a powerful wine with 15% alcohol from a fresh vintage. The wine matured in 225- and 600-liter French oak barrels for one year before being bottled. The freshness of the vintage is immediately noticeable with a mixture of red and black berries and nicely integrated oak. They tend to harvest quite late in Toro and start when many are finishing. However, in the last few years they are harvesting a little bit earlier. 80,000 bottles produced.
