This is not a particularly successful vintage for this estate vineyard bottling. Rough and tannic, it seems more like a Lemberger than a Pinot Noir, and the bitter, herbal finish may or may not smooth out with further bottle age.——P.G.(3/1/2012)—— 84

Just four barrels were made, with grapes from a one-acre estate block of Pommard clone Pinot Noir planted more than 30 years ago. Detailed and brambly, with strawberry and cherry fruit, mottled with baking spices and chocolate. The finish carries some brown sugar flavors, a hint that perhaps this wine will age rather quickly and should be consumed over the next couple of years. ——P.G.(3/1/2011)—— 89

This interesting wine shuffles floral and wild berry flavors together, lays in some light herb, and rounds out the tannins. Though aged for 16 months in 40% new French oak, the barrel flavors are subdued.——P.G.(12/15/2009)—— 87
