The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets is another of the more charming, open wines in the range out of the gates, offering up pretty aromas of red berries, orange zest, spices and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and vibrant palate that's pure, precise and sensual, concluding with a long, saline finish.

The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets is just as charming and demonstrative as it was in barrel. Soaring from the glass with scents of red berries and plums mingled with rose petals, orange rind and peonies, it's medium to full-bodied, sensual and enveloping, with a textural attack that segues into an ample mid-palate framed by lively acids and melting tannins, before concluding with a long, expansive finish.

From an enclave within Aux Corvées, Lachaux's 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets was hailed on three times and yielded only 15 hectoliters per hectare, but the wine has turned out brilliantly, unwinding in the glass with notes of orange rind, ripe red berries and sweet soil tones, framed by a deft touch of oak. Medium to full-bodied, deep and complete, it's lively and perfumed, concluding with a long and precise finish. Despite the hail, there's not even the remotest suggestion of tannic asperity.

Vinified without any destemmed fruit, the 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets offers up notes of orange rind, rose petal, cherries and savory bass notes of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and gourmand, with supple tannins, a juicy core of fruit and a stony finish. It's a beautifully elegant, fragrant expression of Nuits-Saint-Georges.

The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets is also quite youthfully reticent at this stage, unwinding in the glass with a lovely bouquet of raspberries, dark chocolate, candied peel and rose petal. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with considerable amplitude and dimension, its fine but chewy structuring tannins largely concealed by a vibrant core of fruit.
